A journey to this secluded destination is usually to enjoy the remoteness and wildness of this valley in the Swartberg mountains. Do make the effort to stop along the way to enjoy the beauty of the indigenous wild flowers growing along the way.

South Africa has some of the greatest floral landscapes on earth and the Gamkaskloof is no different. If you are not aware of the flowers the chance are that you will just drive by as the grand scenery of the Swartberg mountains tends to take up all of your attention.

The fact that this valley is also known locally as "The Hell" does not do justice to the natural beauty of the place.

Enjoy the photos!
